Anecdote: From 1995 this painting was, very appropiately, hanging next to the entrance of the aula of the institute and it must have caught attention, and it has my name clearly written at the bottom. After a conference about international standards for bloodtransfers (within NATO), a few of these medical specialists went on a visit to the Utrecht University where my brother is a well-known professor on immunology and on meeting him, one of them asked him if he was by anyway the brother of the painter van Eden...
